How To Avoid Dryness When Using Retinol Products

Dry Skin Retinol

There’s sometimes a reluctance to try retinol. Why? Well, it’s probably got something to do with the negative media that retinol has received in the past. The reality, however, is that this is a highly effective skincare saviour that when used in the correct way can transform the complexion.

Let’s give you an overview of this star ingredient so that you can make your own decision.

What is Retinol?

Retinol is derived from Vitamin A and is an active ingredient in many non-prescription skincare products. It’s a milder, gentler version of retinoids that are prescribed by doctors for acute issues like acne or scarring.

What Are the Benefits of Retinol?

Retinol has a multitude of benefits and is often used to treat acne. It works by unclogging pores and preventing the build up of dead skin cells, which in turn prevents blemishes from forming. The fact that it stops pores from clogging can also mean that pores look smaller too.

Retinol is also famed for its antiaging properties, and this is largely because it stimulates collagen production which means that the complexion looks smoother and fine lines and wrinkles are minimised. Skin cell proliferation also increases, and this is beneficial because it thickens the epidermis, combatting signs of sun damage like dark spots and hyperpigmentation and increasing skin resilience.

Another reason why Retinol is so effective is that it plumps up and moisturises the skin which also prevents fine lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place.

Is Retinol Dangerous?

If it’s used correctly and at the right strength for your skin, Retinol is perfectly safe. There’s a lot of misinformation on the internet about retinol but there’s no doubt that it is a powerful ingredient.

Retinol’s potency can sometimes cause dryness, flakiness, and irritation if it’s not used correctly. However, as you’ll read below it’s easy to prevent this from happening by using the product correctly.

How to Avoid Dryness When Using Retinol Products

It’s always advisable when using a new skincare ingredient to do some homework beforehand to ensure it’s right for you.

The key thing with retinol is to build up slowly especially if you’ve never used it before or have dry or sensitive skin. If you’re concerned in any way, you could start by using retinol twice weekly and allow a period of adjustment, or retinization, where you build up usage over the course of a few weeks until you’re using it daily.

Another way of avoiding dryness is to begin with a low strength product. OBAGI360® Retinol 0.5 is the perfect low-level retinol cream to smooth uneven texture, combat blemishes and give the skin a brighter, more youthful appearance. Obagi® take skin dryness and irritation extremely seriously so for extra reassurance, Obagi® conducted skin trials to assess irritation after 3 weeks, ensuring that their retinol products are minimally irritating.

OBAGI360® Retinol 0.5

Another way to avoid dryness when using retinol products is to choose a retinol product that’s been formulated with extra nourishing ingredients. Shea Butter and Chamomile Extract have also been added to the OBAGI360® Retinol 0.5 formula to counteract any inflammation, soothe the complexion, reduce redness and flaking and keep it thoroughly hydrated.

What’s more, this lower-strength product can also be used by those in their 20s and 30s because the earlier you start using retinol, the better! So, start using this now and preserve your youthful skin.

It’s also incredibly important to use a long-lasting moisturiser and an SPF30+ whilst using retinol for extra hydration and protection. Sunscreen, in particular, helps maintain the efficacy of topical retinoids and to avoid sunburn, which you’re more susceptible to when using retinol. So even though the norm is to apply retinol at night, make sure you add sunscreen to your morning skincare routine.

We love Obagi360 Hydrafactor® Broad Spectrum SPF30, a brilliant 2 in 1 moisturiser and sunscreen that supplies all day hydration and a strong defence against UVA and UVB rays. Harnessing the properties of the innovative ingredient, Hydromanil™, derived from the tara seed, which has been clinically shown to provide moisturisation for up to 8 hours, this will support your skin’s hydration levels when using retinol.

Can You Remove Dark Circles Permanently?

can you remove dark circles

Periorbital dark circles normally present as dark blemishes underneath the eyes. We tend to think of them as a sign that someone’s tired or unhealthy but that’s often not the case. There are, in fact, many reasons for dark circles to occur, genes included, and the cause isn’t always that clear cut. No doubt you’ve also heard old wife’s tales about how to cure this frustrating skin condition, like teabags and cold compresses.

If you’ve got dark circles, you may have tried treating the condition with varying effect. Maybe the product or treatment has given you some relief for a while, maybe it’s not worked at all, but like an uninvited guest, those dark circles keep coming back, right? So, the question remains, what’s the best way to get rid of dark circles permanently?

What Causes Dark Circles?

The first part of the story is to understand what’s going on at a cellular level. Skin underneath the eyes is extremely thin and delicate, meaning the blood vessels are more visible compared to other body parts. When vessels become damaged, they can leak blood causing a blueish tinge. Whilst some of us may be more genetically predisposed to having dark circles, there are other contributory factors.

Lack of ‘beauty’ sleep can be a reason because it makes our body release more of the stress hormone cortisol. When this happens, blood vessels expand to accommodate the increased blood flow, and this makes them more noticeable.

Smoking is another no-no. It’s highly damaging to our skin cells which exacerbates dark circles. Alcohol is yet another skin care nuisance because it causes the blood vessels to dilate, resulting in damage and blood pooling beneath the eyes.

There are also certain medications that have the undesirable side effect of dark circles, and another culprit is thought to be salty food because it causes the body to retain fluid which can collect under the eyes, leading to puffiness and dark circles.

Therefore, it’s clear that by making some changes to your lifestyle, you can improve your overall health and the appearance of your skin to some effect but there’s one thing that none of us can avoid and that’s ageing.

How Does Ageing Cause Dark Circles?

As we grow older, our skin loses elasticity, becomes thinner and cell renewal slows down. It’s the reduction in collagen and elastin that makes it more susceptible to laxity. Around the eye area, this can result in fine lines and wrinkles where the skin becomes loose and thin, dark circles becoming more visible, and a puffier appearance.

Moisturising the eye area might prevent dryness and increase hydration, but it won’t get rid of dark circles. But it’s not all doom and gloom, hurrah for science because there are some highly effective active ingredients out there that counteract the ageing process, correct damage, and prevent it from happening in future.

To do this, an eye product must work at a deep cellular level, transforming skin from within. To have any benefit, there are three essential steps relating to elastin that must be followed to reverse the signs of ageing. It must be created, converted, and organised within the skin.

Obagi has created a clinically proven range of eye products that work to restore skin health and youthful radiance. The ELASTIderm® range of products offers incredible efficacy and visible results within 2 weeks. It’s down to an innovative, ground-breaking ingredient named Bi-Mineral Contour Complex™ which combines Copper and Zinc with Malonate.

ELASTIderm® Collection Eye Products

Bi-Mineral Contour Complex™ has been specifically developed to support the three necessary stages of developing healthy elastin. It’s this mineral packed trio that restores elastin, tightens loose skin, and increases skin resilience very rapidly, revealing healthier skin and visibly softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

For those that suffer from dark circles, we’d particularly recommend Obagi ELASTIderm® Eye Serum. This silky, weightless formulation also includes the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of Caffeine which, along with Bi-Mineral Contour Complex™ tightens and brightens the skin and with regular use, you’ll see puffiness and dark circles transformed.

Winter Skincare Tips To Stay Hydrated

winter skincare

The cold, dry winter air can leave skin feeling thirsty, sensitive, itchy and in the worst cases, flaky or even cracked. Ouch!

Now is definitely the time for pre-emptive action to prevent winter dryness and its nasty side-effects. Whilst it can seem daunting, it’s relatively simple to keep skin in tip-top condition throughout the season. With some extra moisture and nourishment incorporated into your daily routine, skin will remain optimally hydrated and supple.

Why Does Skin Suffer in Winter?

It might be the season of goodwill, but make no mistake, skin is constantly under attack during the cold spell.

It’s because the brisk outside air doesn’t retain moisture well, meaning there’s lower humidity and those arctic, blustery winds can leave skin feeling utterly raw. Not to mention that UV rays are still a threat, especially when it snows. Reflecting off the white stuff makes them all the more harmful and damaging to skin cells.

But there’s no escape inside either because central heating loves to suck the moisture out of the air and your skin too. Even simple luxuries like a hot bath or sitting by the fire dry the skin out. One thing you can’t do at this time of year is let your guard down.

1. Keep Drinking

Keeping your body hydrated on the inside and out is crucial to combat winter dryness. You might not feel the need to drink much water during winter but it’s as important now for skin and body health, as at any time. Try one of those bottles that shows you how much to drink throughout the day or even having a cup of warm water is better than no water.

2. Warm Showers and Baths

The idea of having a long hot soak in a bath on a cold winter’s day seems blissful. It’s better for your skin if you stick with warm baths or showers and not spend too long in them either, as this will help to prevent your delicate skin from drying out. And if your skin does go red when you get in, it’s a sure sign that the temperature’s too darn hot.

3. Use a Long-lasting Moisturiser

To keep skin cells nourished from the inside out, it’s important to use a longer lasting, dermatologist tested moisturizer like Obagi Hydrate®. Clinically proven to deliver continuous hydration for up to 8 hours, its amazing efficacy can be attributed to a cutting-edge ingredient called Hydromanil™. These molecules are able to form a matrix across the surface of the skin, preventing moisture loss, whilst simultaneously capturing water molecules and continuously releasing nourishing compounds into the skin. There are also other enriching natural ingredients including shea butter, mango butter and avocado oil to soften and quench dehydrated skin. The hypoallergenic, non-irritating formula makes it ideal for dry and sensitive winter skin.

Image

4. Try a Humidifier

Investing in a humidifier for your home or workplace is one way to add moisture back to dry winter air. Use it in the room where you spend the most amount of time to get the maximum benefit.

5. Change Your Cleanser

At this time of year, it’s best to use a gentler, creamier cleanser or one that contains active components that help to retain moisture. Obagi Nu-Derm® Fx Gentle Cleanser is a soothing gel formulation that effectively removes makeup, dirt, and oil residue, without loss of moisture.

Image

Oat Amino Acids have cleansing properties, whilst antioxidant Aloe, counteracts damage done by UV rays. But the real secret behind this cleanser’s wintertime credentials is that it contains an effective combination of nourishers and moisture retainers.

Panthenol helps skin to hold onto moisture and decreases the amount of water that evaporates through the outer layers of skin. Glycerin is also in there, acting as a humectant, bringing much-needed moisture. With a plethora of active ingredients, it’s no wonder that skin is left perfectly cleansed, looking radiant and primed for follow-on products.

6. Wear Sunscreen

Although sunscreen is regularly omitted from winter skincare routines, it’s still recommended by The Skin Cancer Foundation. That’s because even on grey days, the sun’s UV rays can damage our skin. Even more so when there’s snow on the ground because it reflects off the white stuff.

Apply the sheer Obagi Sun Shield Matte SPF50 as your last step in your morning skincare ritual, prior to make-up. With broad spectrum protection from both UVA and UVB rays, you can relax, safe in the knowledge that your skin is fully protected.

Harnessing advanced technology, protection is threefold with Zinc Oxide deflecting UV rays, and Homosalate and Octisalate absorbing and releasing harmful radiation.

Complete Your Obagi Skincare Set With OBAGI360 Retinol

obagi skincare

There are so many misconceptions about retinol. It’s only for mature skin. Those with sensitivity shouldn’t use it. Retinol is dangerous and damaging. In fact, none of these statements are accurate. Retinol can be used by those with younger skin. There are of course retinol products which are suitable for sensitive skin and when used correctly, it is neither dangerous or damaging.

This much-hailed miracle ingredient is also one of the most effective anti-ageing treatments available today. And what’s more, the younger you start using it the better. Why? Because you’ll be future-proofing your skin and defending it from the signs of premature ageing.

The Science of Retinol

Despite our innate desire to appear youthful no matter our age, the body’s skin cell turnover slows down the older we get. Collagen and Elastin deplete resulting in a loss of skin elasticity and firmness. The outcome of this natural ageing process is an increase in fine lines, wrinkles, crepiness and dullness. It’s not a great advert for growing old! Of course, on the flipside many wonderful things do happen to us as we mature. Just not to our skin.

The good news is that retinol can counteract the visible effects of ageing. It does this by boosting skin cell turnover, and the knock-on effect is an increase in collagen production within the dermis. By doing so, elasticity is improved, and skin appears more youthful, far smoother and thank the lord, fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet are visibly diminished.

When Should I Use Retinol?

If you’re in a younger age-group, you may not have considered using retinol before. For certain, wrinkles seem a universe away. But you like sunbathing right? And let’s admit it, you’re partial to the odd alcoholic drink. Oh!  And before you forget, didn’t you miss a night of sleep recently? Be honest, can you always be bothered to remove your make-up or even moisturise at night and as for your diet….when exactly was the last time you hit your five a day? Or is it seven a day now? The point is that your lifestyle choices may seem inconsequential but environmental factors add up as the years pass by. Over time, skin becomes damaged, and then one day you wake up, and there it is. Your first fine line or wrinkle. It shouldn’t come as a surprise but it always does.

obagi retinoids

Retinol for Acne and Blemishes

Starting early with retinol minimises those frustrating signs of ageing. Not only that, but it prevents skin damage from happening, keeping your skin looking youthful for longer. The benefits of retinol’s anti-ageing properties are quite evident. But there’s another perk for the younger age-group too. Increased cell turnover also keeps pores clear and reduces acne, blemishes or enlarged pores. After continuous use, skin looks clearer and healthier.

How to Use Retinol

There’s no doubt that retinol is a powerful active ingredient. Subsequently it can take skin a little while to adjust to some retinol products on the market. You might have heard people talking about redness, dryness and some minor irritation.

Obagi® takes skin irritation extremely seriously. So much so, that they have carried out extensive research and conducted skin trials to assess irritation from their retinol products after 3 weeks. For this reason, you should be completely reassured that Obagi® retinol products are minimally irritating.

OBAGI360® System

A comprehensive skincare system will help you to achieve optimal results from your skincare products. That’s because products within a skincare system, have been created to work synergistically and complement one another.

The OBAGI360® system has been specifically formulated for those within the 20-30 age-group, to preserve youthful looking skin. Enlarged pores, acne and blemishes are also common concerns amongst this age-group. Obagi360® tackles all of these common concerns, leaving skin fresh, purified and all importantly, clearer.

OBAGI360

If you’re already using the OBAGI360® system, it’s definitely time to consider adding retinol to your repertoire. Our advice is to begin with a low strength product and gradually build up. This allows your skin time to get used to it. OBAGI360® Retinol 0.5 is the perfect complement to anyone using the OBAGI360® system and it can also be used as a starter product if you’ve never used retinol before.

This low-level retinol cream helps improve complexion and smooths uneven texture. With consistent use, skin looks clearer, with less blemishes and of course, as with all retinol products, more youthful. Set a foundation in place now for a lifetime of beautiful skin and reap the benefits of retinol now, tomorrow and in the future.

THE FUNCTION OF VITAMIN C IN SKINCARE PRODUCTS

You will probably know that Vitamin C is found in many foods such as oranges, raspberries, broccoli and potatoes but did you also know that you can find Vitamin C in skincare products? Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that we need to repair tissue and the enzymatic production of certain neurotransmitters. For that reason, Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, can be found in many serums, gels and other skincare products as it has many healing properties. Not only does Vitamin C help to brighten the skin and reveal more radiant-looking skin, but it also diminishes the appearance of ageing. Once you get older, you will likely notice that your skin starts to become more saggy, lose its elasticity and start to show more fine lines and wrinkles. This is the natural process of ageing, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing you can do to slow it down. By applying skincare products with Vitamin C or other anti-ageing ingredients, collagen production will be stimulated and your skin’s elasticity and firmness will improve.

OUR FAVOURITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS FOR RADIANT SKIN

By simply updating the products you’re currently using in your everyday skincare routine, you can improve the look and feel of your skin to get ready for summer 2022. As we understand that there are many products to choose from, we have listed our three favourite products for radiant skin below.

1. OBAGI PROFESSIONAL-C® SERUM

The first product, which might also be our favourite, is the Obagi Professional-C® Serum. This serum can be bought in three different strengths: 10%, 15% or 20%. This allows you to adapt the serum to your skin which will ensure the best results. Obagi Professional-C® Serum contains Vitamin C to brighten the skin and minimise the appearance of ageing.

OBAGI PROFESSIONAL C SERUM

2. OBAGI NU-DERM® BLEND FX

Obagi Nu-Derm® Blend Fx is a skin-brightening cream that uses 7% Arbutin and Lactic Acid to reveal brighter skin. Arbutin is a naturally occurring plant extract that treats the signs of hyperpigmentation and will therefore help to achieve radiant-looking skin.

3. OBAGI-C® FX CLARIFYING SERUM

Last, but definitely not least we recommend adding the Obagi-C® Fx Clarifying Serum to your daily skincare routine. This facial serum contains 7% Arbutin and 10% L-ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). This combination of active ingredients makes the product highly effective in treating hyperpigmentation which will result in brighter-looking, more radiant skin. Exactly what you need before summer 2022!

Why You Need A Vitamin C Serum In Your Routine For Glowing Skin

Vitamin C Serum

With summer days approaching quickly, it’s time to give your skin some extra love and make it glow. We are all longing for warmer days, tanned skin and a dewy, radiant complexion, so let’s make this happen. During the winter, your skin will likely need different things than it will in summer and therefore, we recommend updating your skincare routine for the upcoming season. Add a Vitamin C serum to your routine to achieve that glowy look and prepare your skin for summer 2022.

WHAT DOES A VITAMIN C SERUM DO?

Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from free radical damage, a known cause of premature ageing.

As we get older, our collagen production slows down, which will cause our skin to start sagging, lose its elasticity and reveal fine lines and wrinkles. By using a Vitamin C Serum, your skin’s natural collagen production will be stimulated, resulting in glowing, youthful-looking skin. Besides having anti-ageing properties, a Vitamin C serum will also help to give your skin a brighter, more radiant complexion.

The benefits don’t stop there, Vitamin C is very effective at giving your sunscreen an extra boost, as it helps to protect your skin from damage caused by the sun. In short, if there’s one product that should definitely be included in your summer skincare regimen, it’s a Vitamin C serum.

vitamin-c

WHAT IS THE BEST VITAMIN C SERUM?

When you start your search for a Vitamin C Serum, you will likely come across a wide range of options. So wide, that it might start to stress you out. Thankfully, we have listed the best Vitamin C Serums for your skin so your decision is narrowed down to a small list. The Obagi Professional-C® Portfolio consists of products that contain Vitamin C to boost collagen production, give your skin a glowing complexion and protect your skin from damage caused by UV rays. Obagi Professional-C® Serum is a luxurious and intense Vitamin C serum that is available in three different strengths: 10%, 15% and 20%. Depending on your skin type and your previous experience with Vitamin C products, you can decide what strength works best for you. If you have sensitive skin, we recommend going for the 10% Vitamin C serum.

OBAGI PROFESSIONAL C SERUM

WHAT BENEFITS DOES THE OBAGI PROFESSIONAL-C® SERUM HAVE?

The Vitamin C serum by Pure Obagi is known for its effectiveness in fighting the signs of ageing. Over time, ageing skin develops fine lines, wrinkles and it will lose its elasticity and firmness, with saggy skin as a result. Obagi Professional-C® Serum contains between 10-20% L-ascorbic Acid, which helps to stimulate collagen production and makes your skin look more youthful. When the serum is used in combination with the entire Obagi Professional-C® Portfolio, your skin will rapidly show improvement.

ANOTHER FAVOURITE: OBAGI-C® FX CLARIFYING SERUM

If you’re looking for a serum that will effectively brighten your skin, the Obagi-C® Fx Clarifying Serum will meet all your desires. This serum contains both 10% L-ascorbic Acid and 7% Arbutin, a clinically proven skin-brightening and pigmentation-busting agent. Arbutin is an ingredient that helps to improve your skin’s appearance of hyperpigmentation which will create a more even complexion. The perfect serum for summertime, if you ask us!

Do Night Creams Really Work and What Are Alternatives?

Night Cream

If you’re new to skincare, you might be wondering about the effects skincare products claim to have. After all, can a cream actually transform your skin? Yes, it can. Depending on the skincare brand you’re going for, they have the ability to achieve real results. Obagi® is a luxury skincare brand that develops products specially-formulated to transform the skin from within, resulting in younger, healthier-looking skin and a more confident you. Of course, it’s important to stay realistic as you cannot expect a cream to fully transform your skin overnight. Skincare is about persistence and routine, which is why real results will be achieved if you are consistent. Our skincare experts recommend composing a morning and evening routine, where you fully dedicate five to twenty minutes of your time to your skin. Night creams are a common part of evening skincare routines, but do they actually work and what do they really do?

WHAT DOES A NIGHT CREAM DO?

The working of night creams is not limited to one treatment, as they come in many different variations, strengths and results. Generally speaking, any cream that does not contain SPF is a night cream, as you will need the protection against UV rays during the day. Most people use a cream, but a serum, lotion or gel could be used as well. The main target of a night cream is to keep the skin hydrated throughout the night. On average, we sleep six to eight hours every single night, which means our skin will be left alone for quite some time. To ensure hydration, a moisturising night cream can be used to maintain the moisture levels in the skin.

You might be looking for a night cream with a bigger impact, because you’re struggling with spots, extremely dry skin or ageing skin. Luckily, each night cream comes with a different working which makes them unique.

ALTERNATIVES TO NIGHT CREAMS

People are often fixated on using a night cream as a part of their evening skincare routine, when there are a lot of other effective products available that work even better. One of our favourite products to use during our nighttime skincare routine is the Obagi-C® Fx Clarifying Serum. As the name suggests, this is a facial serum which contains the key ingredients Arbutin and Vitamin C. 7% Arbutin is used to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation for a more even complexion. It’s known for its skin-brightening properties. Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic Acid, reduces signs of ageing by diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. By applying Obagi-C® Fx Clarifying Serum every evening before going to bed, your skin will transform itself during the night. A great alternative to a night cream, if you ask us!

OBAGI C FX SYSTEM

EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

We believe that skincare is about unleashing your skin’s full potential by using innovative skincare products that have proven to be effective in treating skin concerns. To achieve the maximum results, consistency is key. In other words, to get the best out of your skincare products, it’s important to use them on a daily basis. By setting up an evening skincare routine, it will get easier to be consistent which will help your skin the most. Always start off by cleansing the face, to get rid of any makeup, dirt or oil that’s built up on the skin. Obagi-C® Cleansing Gel is an effective 2-in-1 cleanser that helps to remove dirt and minimise the appearance of ageing at the same time. A luxury serum that specifically targets the under-eye area is the Obagi ELASTIderm® Eye Complete Complex Serum. Obagi’s Eye Serum uses a rollerball technique and caffeine to restore ageing eyes, minimise puffiness and soothe the skin underneath the eyes. As the skin under your eyes is extremely delicate and vulnerable, this will likely be the first place that skin-ageing is showing. By using an anti-ageing eye serum in your twenties and thirties, you have the possibility to reduce crow’s feet and fine lines that begin to form near your eyes.

Drinking Lots Of Water, But Your Skin Looks Dry and Dull? Have You Tried Obagi Hydrate?

obagi hydrate

It would seem a sensible enough notion that if you drink lots of water, your skin will become adequately hydrated. Certainly, skin tends to look clearer because water helps the body get rid of waste products. The problem is that skin loses water through invisible evaporation. Even though you might be getting your daily fill of H2O, it probably won’t be at the same rate as the skin’s water content depletes. There may be other reasons why your complexion is looking dry and dull too. Poor diet, alcohol, hormonal changes, genetics and external factors like weather and seasonal changes can all affect moisture content.

To ensure that your skin is optimally hydrated, It’s important to use a moisturiser that supports the skin’s natural barrier function. This can be achieved by using ingredients that nourish and replenish water levels. Even more importantly, a barrier needs to be supported to prevent water loss and instead, to retain it within the layers of skin.

SIGNS OF DRY SKIN

If skin looks dry, flaky, less supple, with fine lines or wrinkles forming, and you notice that it’s natural radiance has diminished, poor water content may be behind it.

Using a moisturiser morning and evening to replenish and lock in moisture is crucial in maintaining a good level of skin hydration. ‘But I’m already doing that’ I hear you say. Many moisturisers on the market only hydrate skin for a short period of time though. On it goes in the morning, skin feels nourished, you feel satisfied and off you go. Only, a few hours later, it’s not as smooth and now is looking decidedly dry and dehydrated all over again. Oh dear.

We need an instant hit of moisture but, we need something more. A formula that prevents water loss, and continuously hydrates skin throughout the day will provide optimal hydration. For this to happen, the moisturiser must work at a deep, cellular level, not just topically.

HAVE YOUR TRIED OBAGI HYDRATE®?

If you haven’t tried this must-have hydrator yet, frankly you should. Why? Because Obagi Hydrate® is the ultimate weapon to fight skin dryness.

Clinically proven to improve moisture content, this formula has been shown to provide moisturisation for up to 8 hours. That’s all day!

Obagi Hydrate® is a scientifically backed moisturiser that does so much more than simply nourish skin. It also transforms skin cells from within, corrects damage and protects against environmental stressors. This dermatologist tested product is your absolute go-to daily moisturiser.

HOW DOES OBAGI HYDRATE® WORK?

The secret to its long-lasting hydration is an ingredient named Hydromanil™. Derived from the Tara Seed, Hydromanil™ molecules form a matrix on the skin’s surface.

Dehydrated skin is immediately nourished, but unlike other hydrators that give a short intensive boost of moisture, Hydromanil™ prevents further water loss through the barrier that’s been formed and holds water in the layers of the skin. This enables it to gradually deliver nourishment from active compounds over time ensuring longer-lasting hydration.

It’s also loaded with other enriching natural ingredients including Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Avocado Oil. With continuous use, dry and dull skin will soon be forgotten. Skin looks healthier, more supple, visible signs of ageing are diminished and younger, radiant looking skin is revealed.

OBAGI HYDRATE LUXE®

You wouldn’t expect Obagi® to leave it at that. Oh no no! They’ve only gone and created an utterly gorgeous night-time hydrator to complement Obagi Hydrate®

Meet the gloriously rich Obagi Hydrate Luxe®. Forget rich, greasy overnight moisturisers, this one comes in the form of a luxurious balm-like texture. This night-time formulation has been developed to give extra-strength moisturisation overnight and it syncs with the nightly functions to repair and renew the skin.

Hydromanil™ technology ensures that this nightly hydrator provides instant and continuous hydration, clinically proven for up to 8 hours. Powerful anti-ageing key biomimetic peptides also support the skin’s natural barrier function. Signature ingredients, Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Avocado Oil are there to provide intense nourishment, leaving skin beautifully soft to the touch. If you wonder why your skin looks so radiant in the morning, that’s because this moisturiser also naturally exfoliates throughout the night without loss of hydration.
